Hi, I’m Amber Van Treeck!

A woman with long brown hair sitting on a rock by a river, surrounded by trees with fall foliage, smiling at the camera.

My name is Amber Van Treeck

My practice is centered around two primary areas: trauma-informed therapy using EMDR and supporting neurodivergent adults, including ADHD and AuDHD clients.

I work with adults who want to better understand how trauma, chronic stress, and neurodivergence have shaped their nervous system, relationships, and sense of self. Therapy is collaborative, paced, and grounded in safety — not pressure or performance.

Trauma-Informed Therapy & EMDR

I have a deep respect for trauma work and the ways trauma can quietly influence emotional regulation, relationships, self-trust, and daily functioning. Many clients come to therapy knowing something feels “off,” but without clear language for what they’ve experienced.

In our work together, we focus on:

  • increasing feelings of safety and trust

  • building awareness of triggers and nervous system responses

  • reducing irritability, emotional reactivity, and relationship strain

  • understanding how past experiences continue to impact the present

I frequently use EMDR therapy as part of trauma treatment, tailoring it to each client’s needs and capacity. EMDR can be a powerful tool not only for PTSD, but also for chronic stress, relational trauma, ADHD-related distress, and even chronic pain.

Trauma work often includes examining relational patterns and learning to implement boundaries in both personal and professional settings. As clients gain clarity about what has been harmful or depleting, we explore ways to protect their energy and move toward healthier, more sustainable relationships.

Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy for ADHD & AuDHD Adults

I am an ADHD-diagnosed adult and a parent of two AuDHD children. This lived experience informs my work alongside professional training, offering a grounded understanding of how neurodivergence shows up across the lifespan.

I provide neurodivergent-affirming therapy, meaning:

  • ADHD and autism are not treated as deficits to fix

  • masking, burnout, and nervous system overload are understood in context

  • therapy adapts to your processing style, energy, and communication needs

I have a particular interest in supporting adult women with ADHD, as well as neurodivergent parents navigating overwhelm, identity shifts, and chronic stress. For clients with ADHD, therapy goes far beyond medication and often includes work around emotional regulation, self-trust, trauma, and sustainable coping strategies.

Rather than forcing productivity-based goals, therapy focuses on helping clients understand their brains, reduce shame, and build systems that actually work for them.

What Working Together Looks Like

If you choose to work with me, we begin with an intake session where we explore your history, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. From there, we collaboratively develop a treatment plan that reflects your goals, values, and nervous system needs.

I practice from a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, placing strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a space that feels safe, flexible, and respectful of your lived experience.

In addition to EMDR, I incorporate elements of CBT when helpful, particularly for noticing patterns in thinking and emotional responses. I am currently working toward my ADHD-CSSP certification to further support neurodivergent clients.

My goal is to support clients in developing greater clarity, regulation, and overall well-being — in ways that honor who they already are. I provide online therapy throughout Colorado and in-person sessions in Conifer, CO.
